SPEED
YOUR SEARCH FOR A WORD OR PHRASE.
FIND
FUNCTION: Use the 'find'
function to quickly find what you want on a page on the
Internet. The 'find' function is usually on
the Main Toolbar under the word Edit.
You can also press the control (ctrl) key and the
'F' key at the same time (Ctrl + F). Then type
in a word or phrase you want to find in the page you are
looking at. NOTE: The 'find' function only searches
for the word or phrase in the web page open on the screen.
LINKS:
Text
which
is underlined has a link. Some links are internal.
They connect one place in a document to another place in
the same document. Other links are external.
They connect the document you are viewing to a different
document.
BOOKMARK:
A bookmark 'remembers' a page. Instead of typing
in the Internet address in the location field, you select
the bookmark for the page you want to see. There are Internet
instructions on how to set, change and delete bookmarks.
Look on the Main Toolbar for the selections Bookmark
and Help.
SPEED
UP READING A WEB PAGE: Use the links on a page
and the control (Ctrl) key to move around quickly on a web
page. The control key works the same as it does in
word processing. For example, pressing the control
key and the end key at the same time (Ctrl+End) takes you
to the end of the document. Pressing the control
key and the Home key at the same time (Ctrl+Home) takes
you to the top of the document. Pressing the control
key and the up arrow key takes you up one paragraph at a
time. Pressing the control key and the down arrow
key take you down one paragraph at a time.
SEARCH
ENGINE: Located at the bottom of each web page is a
Google® search Utah.gov feature.
